Quartier des Spectacles

Permanent Cultural District Infrastructure · Montréal, QC · 2013–2017

ROLE Projects & Technical Infrastructure Manager
EMPLOYER Partenariat du Quartier des Spectacles
TIMELINE Feb 2013 – Sep 2017
SCOPE Annual operating budget

The Quartier des Spectacles is Montréal's primary cultural district — a dense urban territory hosting more than 40 venues, dozens of annual festivals, and hundreds of events per year. For four and a half years, I was the client-side owner of all permanent and temporary AV and electrical infrastructure across the district, working in close coordination with the Ville de Montréal, cultural partners, and international suppliers.

The mandate combined long-horizon infrastructure planning, annual capital projects, multi-stakeholder governance, and real-time operational support for every production using district infrastructure — from large international festivals to small community events. Every infrastructure decision involved coordinating with city engineers, navigating public right-of-way processes, and balancing the needs of a wide range of cultural stakeholders with different technical expectations and operational rhythms.

The permanent systems deployed during this mandate remain operational. It is the project in my career that most directly reflects what site and event technical operations leadership looks like at scale.
